Expect to see their faces in north Valley advertising campaigns this year. They are the winners from a model search called The Shops at Norterra's Next Top Model, a contest in March at the high-end mall at 2460 W. Happy Valley Road. About 24 winners were chosen from 400 contestants.
Four of those models won a one-year contract with S.I.M. Agency, a Gilbert-based firm that represents models for fashion, print, catalog, runway, TV, voiceover and film. Chris Chocholousek, 21, Trevor Daniels, 9, and Patty Hart, 44, all of north Phoenix, and Paul Bartal of Glendale can expect to see their faces in high-end retail ads.
Hart, who brought along her 12-year-old daughter, signed up on a whim."It was a nice surprise (to win)," Hart, 44, said. "It's just nice at this age in life to have someone see that you have that kind of potential to model." Hart said she has yet to sign the contract. While she's excited about the opportunity, she worries about the schedule because she has a full-time job at Starbucks and cares for her daughter.
Bartal, 17, received the call from the agency in April. He's was surprised because the job market in Arizona is tight and a 12-month contract with an agency is rare. The agency connects the models to jobs. Bartal is eager to get started. "It's pretty big and it's good for me," said the teenager, who aspires to be a businessman and previously modeled for Kohl's in 2007.
The 20 winners received a $75 gift certificate and copies of their photographs.
The local response for entries was overwhelming, said Stephanie Case, The mall's marketing director.
"It was really difficult to narrow down the finalists, because there were so many fantastic, unique looks and personalities," Case said. "Featuring actual Norterra shoppers in the center's advertising is a fun way to involve the community in the excitement happening at Norterra."

Arizona Foothills Announces W Scottsdale as Official Hotel of The Face of Foothills
Arizona Foothills Magazine’s The Face of Foothills model search finale event will take place at the W Scottsdale November 12 from 7 to 9 p.m., with the winning model receiving a stay at the luxury hotel as a part of the grand prize package.
The ultra-hip event will be the official announcement of the winning model, complete with appetizers from Sushi Roku, live music and champagne. The finalists will all participate in the event as a part of numerous fashion vignettes.
"W has always been on the cutting-edge of fashion, music and entertainment," said W Scottsdale General Manager, Leon Young. "It's a natural partnership for W Scottsdale; a great opportunity to showcase up-and-coming talent and highlight the local fashion scene. We look forward to continuing our relationship and sponsoring future events."
The 2010 Face of Foothills will be on the cover of the February 2010 issue of AFM, star in a fashion shoot and see her face featured on the ArizonaFoothillsMagazine.com and AFM E-Newsletter headers for one full year. The Grand Prize package includes a three-night stay at W Scottsdale, a photo shoot with AFM’s Fashion and Creative Directors and more.
Arizona Foothills editors and the Creative Director will choose the semi-finalist candidates from the hundreds of entries, who the public will then vote on at ArizonaFoothillsMagazine.com. A panel of editors, sponsors and judges will then meet the top choices in person and choose their winner.

Synchronized swimmers performed a mermaid worthy performance in front of attendees- slightly stealing the spotlight from the models suiting up in summer styles on the plexi glass runway.

Arizona Foothills Magazine’s Face of Foothills model search has begun, and the entries are pouring in! The winning model, who encompasses the style, substance and sophistication of the luxury publication, will be on the cover of the February 2010 issue of AFM, star in a fashion shoot and see her face featured on the ArizonaFoothillsMagazine.com and AFM E-Newsletter headers for one full year. She’ll also receive a weekend stay in a luxury Valley Resort with spa treatments and other prizes.

AZ Native Returns with a New York State of Mind
AZ born, Carolina bred and New York raised. S.I.M. welcomes new Agency Assistant, Molly Maguth.
This southern gal holds more than just a few aces up her sleaves. A spitfire with style savvy and experience, Molly held coveted internships in the Editorial and Marketing departments of Charleston Magazine. During which time, she coordinated photo shoots and fashion shows while building strong relationships with local businesses.
After receiving her B.A. in Communications from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, she landed a job in NYC with Pierce Mattie Public Relations as an Account Coordinator within the Beauty/Fashion division.
Life in the East Village proved exciting but in a fit of wanderlust, Molly decided to head West in search of life's next BIG adventure.

Well its official! S.I.M. Agency is the OFFICIAL agency for PHX RUNWAY this Fall! The 2 day event takes place October 3rd and 4rth at the beautiful Herberger Theatre in Phx, AZ. SPRING IS IN THE AIR!
Well, another season has passed. S.I.M. models sure did stay busy with Lauren shooting Abercrombie, Kylan with Hollister, and many other large bookings, we have been busy!
We recently opened our new office FINALLY in the lovely town of Gilbert! We are so excited to have an entire office to ourselves....we are kicking off the new year with an open house, yet to be announced but soon!
In Decemeber we brought in LA photographer Matthew M. and had him shoot some of our models, check out these pics! He is amazing!

Fall Season

Well the Fall season has arrived! With runway shows, advertorial shoots, and tv commercials to boot, S.I.M. Agency models and actors have been busy!
Thanks to the great addition of Tanya Barnes, our Runway Director, our models have been sashaying the runway all season! From the annual Beat The Heat show, many SAKS Fifth Ave and Dillards shows, and the Max Mara coutoure collection show....looks like theres no stopping S.I.M. models now! We finally our building our mens division a bit more and our two boys Tanner and Darrel have been hitting runway as well.
Our print division has been keeping busy as well! With ads for Rolfs, Trash Ties, Contact magazine, Dillards, Wildflower Bread Co., and many more.....S.I.M. talent are sure to be a household name in no time!
